ConvX, AI-powered Conversation Practice Tool
At Media Zoo, I noticed a recurring gap across many of our clients: they wanted to improve the speed to competency across a variety of difficult conversation topics. Most training tools, such as simulations or actor-facilitator roleplays were expensive and hard to scale. With the emergence of generative AI, I saw an opportunity to new technologies to solve for what many of our clients needed.
As the lead of the product, I framed the problem and ran early hypothesis testing at the prototyping stage. After the proof of concept was approved, I led a small team of designers and developers in building ConvX, an AI-powered conversation-practice tool.
My role was primarily of lead product designer and product owner, leading the strategy through to delivery, including developing commercial models, competitor research, and working closely with developers to prioritise and ship. ConvX went on to become Media Zoo's first shipped product, and is now used by multiple clients, including a bespoke build for CALM, the suicide prevention charity, to help their helpline workers rehearse applying a critical care model.
Working on ConvX made me want to keep exploring roles where I can build more meaningful AI products.
